Shoulder & Elbow
The shoulder joint is highly complex, with incredible range of motion but not a lot of stability, whereas the elbow joint has limited range of motion (it can only bend and straighten the arm) but is more stable than the shoulder.
The shoulder is highly vulnerable to stress and injury, especially from impact or overuse. And for older adults, osteoarthritis is also a leading source of joint pain, stiffness, and weakness in the shoulder. The elbow is more prone to overuse injuries, such as repetitive motions at work or during sports.
